My professional life began in a different world - I worked as an accountant and later became a teacher. Both careers gave me valuable experience. but creativity and a passion for beautiful interiors were always a part of who I was.
Over time, I was drawn to interior design and discovered how much I loved transforming spaces and creating pieces that could become part of a room rather than simply decorate it. This naturally led me to mixed media and textured art, furniture restoration, upcycling and upholstery.
For me, art and interiors are inseparable. When I create a painting, sculpture or piece of furniture, I am already imagining how it will work within a space - how its colours, textures and proportions will complement the room and contribute to its atmosphere. I love creating textured and three-dimensional artwork, experimenting with materials, and incorporating art into furniture and interior design.
POWERTEX has become an important part of my creative work. I had full training with Powertex products and learnt how to use the complete range to their full potential in my pieces of art. I use Powertex products and techniques in many of my designs to create texture, structure and sculptural effects. I love experimenting with these materials and discovering new ways of combining them with painting. mixed media and decorative techniques.
My life changed after experiencing breast cancer. That experience gave me a new perspective on life and encouraged me to reconsider what I truly wanted to do with my time. I realised I wanted to dedicate myself to something I genuinely loved.
THAT SOMETHING WAS ART.
I decided to follow my creativity, explore my ideas and build a life around the work that makes me happiest. What began as a personal creative journey has grown into something I now want to share with others.
Teaching and workshops are now an important part of my artistic journey. My background as a teacher, combined with my experience in art and interior design, allows me to share the techniques I use in my own work. Through my workshops, I hope to introduce others to mixed media, Powertex, textured art and creative decorative techniques - while encouraging them to experiment, develop confidence and discover their own individual style.
I also invest in properties and use my art in them to create unique, inspiring spaces with soul and character. Combining art and interiors in real homes is one of my greatest passions.
